Best Comic Book Covers June 19 2019. Each week I pick the top 10 covers based on originality, style, artistic ability, colors and other factors.
The options for comic book cover art this week were absolutely incredible. There were so many great covers to choose from. As always, I added a few bonus selections. I try to keep the list at around 10 to 12, but there’s no limit to the number of covers I pick and I refuse to toss one out because it exceeds a set limit.
I try not to allow my cover picks to be influenced by my like or dislike of a particular artists’ work, even though some artists do stand out from the rest. My selection process is subjective no matter what, so I try to choose covers based primarily on the quality of the artwork.
Each week, after browsing through the entire selection of new comics being released that week, I choose the 10 best comic book covers of the week, along with a few extras and share them here.
This week, some of the top cover artists include; David Finch, Marco Checchetto, Jheremy Raapack, Jonboy Meyers and more.
This project is still a work in progress and I’m still figuring out the specifics for choosing my picks. Mainly, I choose artwork that appeals to my own taste, which can be quite varied at times.
