Best comic book covers June 5 2019 by Robot Outlaw showcases our favorite comic book covers of the week based on a very simple formula. We know what we like when we see it.

This week’s selections includes multiple covers from the same title, these are called Variants, usually illustrated by different artists, but depicting a similar concept. I don’t always pick multiple covers from the same title, but I refuse to toss out a pick because two covers have the same title.

We’ve also selected multiple covers by the same artist. Typically our cover picks are not swayed by a like or dislike of a particular artists’ work, even though some artists do stand out from the rest. The selection process is subjective no matter what, and the goal is to choose covers based primarily on the quality of the artwork.

Each week showcases 10 of the best comic book covers of the week, along with a one or two extras. After browsing through the entire selection of new comics being released that week the chosen covers are shared here.

This is still a work in progress and the selection process is purely objective based on personal likes. Covers are simply chosen based on quality of the art, the subject matter, complexity of the design and a few other criteria that aren’t easy to explain.

As always, your support and encouragement are very much appreciated. If you enjoy these kinds of posts, please let me know on Twitter @RobotOutlaw or feel free to drop me an email.

Comic book art is the main reason that I’m so fond of comics. And this series “Best Comic Book Covers of the Week”, was borne out of that love for comics and comic book art.
